Hi! I’m Jess. I’m the owner of Roots with Resonance. <\/em>I’m an LISW-S who has been working in this field for over a decade. I show up with a deep passion for supporting marginalized communities through therapy, education, and connection. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m a bisexual, cisgender, neurodivergent, white woman who is also a mom and a spouse. I earned my BA in Sociology from Bowling Green State University and my Master\u2019s in Social Work from The Ohio State University. I\u2019ve built a career around holding space, building bridges, and creating affirming environments for healing, learning, and growth. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

My Background<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Most of my social work journey has focused on serving LGBTQ+ communities in both healthcare and mental health settings. I worked at the Department of Veterans Affairs as the LGBTQ Veteran Care Coordinator Lead across 3 states, developed an LGBTQ+ education program that expanded to 15 VA medical centers nationwide and I\u2019ve presented at national and international conferences on LGBTQ+ health. Before launching this practice, I worked as a therapist and Education Coordinator at a private practice specializing in LGBTQ+ mental health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    My Approach<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

    My personality and style – both in therapy and in life – are grounded in warmth, humor, curiosity, and the belief that growth happens through authentic relationships. I bring in creativity, music, movement, embodiment practices, and just the right amount of chaos (thank you, neurodivergence) <\/em>to meet people exactly where they are.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    I use evidence-based tools like CBT, CPT, Motivational Interviewing, and mindfulness, but always adapt them to honor each person\u2019s unique experience. I\u2019m guided by what makes each person feel seen, safe, and supported<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Outside the Office<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

    When I\u2019m not working, you can find me: Singing along at live shows, cooking and sharing food, collecting books I fully intend to read, laughing and spending time with my people (and pets), crafting, and playing in my chaos garden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
